Lectrix and Orbweaver have released two AI-based tools for electronic component search and technical support. Lassie provides site search functionality, while Laifae functions as a virtual field applications engineer. Both tools use OpenAI infrastructure and are designed for manufacturer websites.

Lassie processes natural language queries to search across product catalogs, datasheets, CAD models, application notes, and distributor inventory data. The system indexes content in real time and interprets engineering terminology including synonyms and partial matches. Search results combine information from multiple source types in a single interface.

Laifae responds to engineering questions using manufacturer-specific technical content. The system operates continuously and can transfer conversations to human field applications engineers when required. Conversation data integrates with CRM platforms including Salesforce, HubSpot, and Dynamics.

Both tools are currently in training phase using manufacturer product catalogs, technical documentation, and distributor data feeds. Deployments are scheduled for sites in the United States and Europe. The systems are designed to meet ITAR compliance requirements and operate on infrastructure hosted by Lectrix and Orbweaver.
